Ihram
It is the intention to perform Umrah by reciting the Talbiyah: “Labiak Umrah”.
Mulslims perform Umrah following the Sunna of the Prophet Mohammed – p peace and prayer be upon him. In Arabic, the word “Umrah” means to visit a populated place. In Sharia, “Umrah” means paying a visit to Ka’bah, to perform the rituals. There are two types of Umrah: the Umrah of “Enjoyment” (Umrat al-tamattu) which is performed alongside the Hajj, and the “Single” Umrah (Umrah Mufradah) that can be undertaken at any time of the year.
• An Umrah to another Umrah will be redemption of sins. Abu Hurairah narrates that Mohammed – peace and prayer be upon him – said: “An Umrah to another Umrah will be redemption of sins for whatever (minor) occurs between them” (Bukhari, Muslim).
• Umrah is one of the two Jihads. It was narrated that the Prophet Mohammed – peace and prayer be upon him - said: “The one who fights in the cause of Allah, and the pilgrim performing Hajj and ‘Umrah are a delegation to Allah. He invited them, so they responded to Him, and they ask Him and He gives to them.” (Hasan), Al Albani.
•Umrah removes poverty and sins. The Prophet Mohammed – peace and prayer be upon him - said: “Follow up the Hajj and Umrah, because they certainly remove poverty and sins as fire separates the impurities from iron, gold and silver”. (Tirmidhi).
• Umrah performed in Ramadan equals Hajj rewards. Tirmidhi narrated from Umm Maqal that the Prophet Mohammed - peace and prayer be upon him – said: “Umrah performed in the month of Ramadan will equal (in rewards) to that of Hajj or Hajj performed with me”.
• Umrah is considered as a minor pilgrimage. This because it embraces some of the Hajj rituals including the Tawaf, Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah, Halq (shaving the head) or Taqsir (remove some hair from head, beard or moustache).
• One rak'ah in the Holy Haram equals hundred thousand of rak'ahs. The Prophet Mohammed – peace and prayer be upon him – said: “One prayer in my mosque is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, except al-Masjid al-Haraam”. (Bukhari & Muslim).
It is the intention to perform Umrah by reciting the Talbiyah: “Labiak Umrah”.
During the Tawaaf Muslims are to go around the Kaaba seven times. Each step starts in front of the black stone and ends at it.
Umrah performer prays two rak'ahs behind the shrine of Ibrahim - peace be upon him - after completing the Tawaaf. It is preferred to recite Al Kafiroun Surat in the first rak'ah and Al Ikhlas Surat in the second one
Walk between Safa and Al Marwa Mountains seven times starting from Safa Mountain and ending at Al Marwa Mountain
5. Halq (shaving the head) or Taqsir (removing some hair from the head, beard or moustache). Trimming the hair is allowed, but shaving the entire head is preferable. This because the Prophet Mohammed - peace and prayer be upon him - prayed for those who cut their hairs three times while praying for trimmers once. After the hair-trimming, the Umrah is over and the performer is released from the Ihram state
